Greyhawk: What Price Victory for an Afghan ETT (Embedded Tactical Trainer)?
Gabriel Ledeen: The Anbar Awakening was not a spontaneous uprising against the horrible brutality of the insurgents. Rather, it occurred and succeeded due to the conditions created by U.S. forces who steadily built the foundation for Anbar’s stability.
Rich Lowry: Nothing will be possible in Afghanistan without a fight…The addition of American troops in areas in the south that haven’t had a coalition presence, where the Taliban is sure to resist, will mean a long summer of combat. It will give the Left and the media — who have already turned on what they had long held out as the “good war” — further occasion to declare Afghanistan the latest Vietnam.
Jay Nordlinger: So, the pro–cop killers have chanted, “OPD, you can’t hide — we charge you with genocide.” Interesting how the language of the Left remains the same. When I was in college, the kids chanted, “Reagan-Bush, you can’t hide — we charge you with genocide.” They meant that the Reagan administration had slowed the rate of growth of social-welfare spending. Really.
POTUS: …if you buy a car from Chrysler or General Motors, you will be able to get your car serviced and repaired, just like always. Your warrantee will be safe. In fact, it will be safer than it’s ever been. Because starting today, the United States government will stand behind your warrantee.
Ed Morrissey: The proverb instructs us that we do better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness. But what if one is making a killing at praising the darkness? Would it not be better for that person to extinguish a single candle instead? Al Gore didn’t do either on Curse the Light Earth Hour, in yet another show of environmental hypocrisy
