Jules Crittenden: Some people might think a movement without leaders is a problem. I don’t know at this point it is. Leaders theoretically will have to take their cue from the movement, and may come out of it. That could end up working better than the model the Dems are now working with, a leader who is trying to tell his increasingly unenthused movement what to do.
JammieWearingFool: Huh? The tea parties infuriated the White House? Why, just yesterday, Obama’s stooge pretended they had no idea there were tea parties.
Ed Morrissey: I’d give the new administration more time to get their footing, except that both the President and Vice President served on committees in the Senate that had oversight on this very problem. Unfortunately, neither of them attended the meetings on Somalia and piracy at the Subcommittee on African Affairs over the last three years. And it shows.
Strategy Page: Everyone wants something done about the pirates, but too many nations are holding back because of potentially embarrassing consequences (dead pirates or dead civilians).
Scott Johnson: On Tuesday President Obama visited Georgetown University to give an expansive speech — “A new foundation for the economy” — promoting his domestic policies. The speech deserves the attention of concerned citizens.
Don Surber: I find it interesting that the self-appointed guardians of civil liberties on the left so often want to abuse prosecutorial powers to go after people they don’t like.
