KARL at HotAir: Aside from the issue of basic competence, the common thread running through the current batch of issues is the Obama Administration’s cavalier attitude toward contracts and the rule of law…lenders no longer trust that Obama and the Democratic Congress will not change the rules in midstream for reasons of political expediency.
John Feehery: With Pelosi, the press assumes she is both a hypocrite and a liar. Her various explanations of what she knew of waterboarding and when she knew it have been unconvincing at best. Her news conference was a complete disaster, and her credibility is in tatters. Should Pelosi continue to mishandle this current crisis, and should she continue to make wild statements about the veracity of the CIA, don’t be surprised if somebody in the House says enough is enough. The conditions are ripe for a coup.
Micheal Yon: As we pour money into Pakistan, Pakistan apparently is pouring money into producing more nuclear weapons. I’ve been inappropriately calling this rumbling volcano the “AfPak” war, when it should more accurately be called “PakAf.”
Thomas Lifson: Once again, the adverse consequences of poorly-conceived environmental policies dawns on mush-headed greenies. Germany’s Spiegel posts an article puzzling over the consequences of that nation’s sweeping carbon emissions legislation, conceding that it has not reduced carbon emissions one gram. To Spiegel and the warmists, this is somehow a “paradox”
