Amir Taheri: In the Khomeinist system, Khamenei is supposed to represent divine power on earth…the power to suspend the rules of Islam itself, if and when he so wishes. His word is supposed to be final on all matters; when he speaks, Allah has spoken. Now he looks like just another politician engaged in a bitter power struggle for the control of the country.

Michelle Malkin: My syndicated column today digs further into Obama’s AmeriCorruption. We now have the White House in full Chicago thug mode — maligning fired AmeriCorps inspector general Gerald Walpin as “confused” and “disoriented.” Yep, that was the response after Democrat Sen. Claire McCaskill weighed in and pronounced herself unsatistifed with Obama’s “loss of confidence” rationale.

Byron York: In a detailed conversation Wednesday morning, Walpin said the White House is “grasping at nonexistent straws” to justify his termination as watchdog for one of the Obama White House’s favorite federal programs.

Ware County Sheriff Randy Royal: “He gave no explanation … There is no law against driving naked so we had to let him go”
