Uncle Jimbo: Outraged Democrats looking to cover Nancy Pelosi’s exposed ass have decided to play games with what ought to remain a secret matter…Now a group of Dems on the Intel Committee have decided they can help rehab her rep, score some political points against the evil Bush regime and distract the public from the economy by giving the media some red meat.

Richard Fernandez: Tigerhawk wonders whether Barack Obama’s declining political fortunes have any connection to the spate of investigations launched against Bush-era officials. “Call me a cynic, but I am not in the least surprised that a couple of weeks after Barack Obama’s strong approval/disapproval ratings took a turn to the unfavorable and Obamacare is looking less like a lead pipe cinch it is suddenly time to investigate the Bush administration.”

Jennifer Rubin: The stimulus plan was bad policy, poorly conceived and oversold. It isn’t working, yet the president insists his policy was perfect. The result now is a surprising agreement between the Left and Right.

Micheal Barone: Disarray. That’s one word to describe the status of the Obama administration’s legislative program as Congress heads into its final four weeks of work before the August recess.

Liz Cheney: There are two different versions of the story of the end of the Cold War: the Russian version, and the truth. President Barack Obama endorsed the Russian version in Moscow last week.

What makes a controversy: Science over ideology…Evangelism controversial…Eugenics not worthy of mention?

Micheal Ledeen: …the bottom line is that we are turning loose Iranian terrorists in exchange for the release of Roxana Saberi, plus, probably, three British hostages.  The first payment arrived today in Tehran, to a triumphant reception.  Ugh.

Glenn Reynolds: …there’s another cost that isn’t getting enough attention. That’s the degree to which a bureaucratized healthcare system will squash medical innovation just as we reach a point where dramatic progress is possible. To see how important that is, I don’t have to look any farther than my own family.
