Friday, it’s cool enough to cure Global Warming

I’ve noticed that not everyone is hopey changey these days. So here comes Halloween. Are you planning anything fun or are you just staying at home and sulking?
Obama’s Administration is claiming that they have created or saved a million jobs. I love the wiggle room with “saved”. I have no idea how this number can be counted? If the economy is growing, doesn’t that save jobs? Is the economy growing? We have a classic example of the Government claiming that they can do a better job with “YOUR” money than you can. I wonder if there is anyone in the Drive Time Happy Hour audience that would claim that ‘Obama Money’ saved or created their job? Since I’m a complete moron there is no way I can articulate it better than this; “When the government distributes lucre or loot, people spend it. If your interest is national income accounting, spending other people’s money is great. Spending is a back-door way for government statisticians to measure what matters, which is the real output of goods and services.
But the government has no money of its own to spend; only what it borrows or confiscates from us via taxation. Oops.
“Government job creation is an oxymoron,” said Bill Dunkelberg, chief economist at the National Federation of Independent Business. It is only by depriving the private sector of funds that government can hire or subsidize hiring.
That’s why “jobs created or saved” is such pure fiction. It ignores what’s unseen, as our old friend Frederic Bastiat explained so eloquently 160 years ago in an essay.” – source
Talk about jobs that suck. What if your job was to be a stand-in for a dictator. I’m sure there must be a lefty out there that would love it….since they seem to love dictators so much.
Why is it a victory for Obama to see the ousted President of Honduras reinstated? Zelaya tried to change the constitution of his country and falls on his knees in front of Chavez. Why would it be good for America if more countries in South America were like Venezuela? It just doesn’t seem right to me.
Stimulus money is being shuffled around from local to state to federal discretion, without much oversight. It is being used to pay for holes in budgets nation wide. Many times to plug holes in social programs that need “more money”. So our government creates social programs, then they can’t pay them. So they take tax payer dollars to pay for them….this year. What are they going to do next year? It is madness I tell you, madness. On top of it all, the Obama Administration will take credit for saving jobs for this “one” year. Even if the stimulus saves jobs on a temporary basis what the heck are the plans for keeping these jobs?
There are scores of ways to revise history. Dictators do it by controlling the media, maybe it starts with saying some media organizations aren’t ‘real news sources’. Certainly there is culture, perception and education. All of these things can contribute to revisionist history. One of the most unbelievable instances of this has to do with the founding of this nation. Now, I love healthy debate and there is no doubt that our society is immersed in a culture war revolving around spiritual belief structure. Anymore, it seems that anything goes when it comes to faith with little or no regard to the faith that handed this great nation to its people. In such debates, I like to remind people that our culture of freedom is based on a Biblical World View. I argue that the founding fathers understood Freedom based on their belief in the Gospel of Christ. But so many detest such a thought. You can see disgust on the face of a secular humanist/leftie/Marxist as the assertion is made. They think, “How can this nation of freedom be built upon simple minded Christians”. So then the revision comes to light. Now, most ‘elite’ circles of lefties would argue that this nation was not founded by Christian men but rather, enlightened Deists. To put this in perspective, A Deist would agree that the Universe had some creative force or a creator behind it but that Creator is far removed from the creation. He is just sitting up there twiddling His thumbs or maybe creating some other Universe but not involved. Basically, the concept is to combat the idea that the brilliant words and founding of this nation could have nothing to do with a simple minded Christian. Then the debate turns to how Jefferson said this and Paine said that. There is no doubt that the men who influenced and shaped this nation’s core values were quite prolific. Many things were said, many things were written. For any sentence that may be twisted to provoke thought that its author was a Deist, there are two or more to counter the notion. At the end of the day, college professors, historians and many feeble minded lefties will spout the very same thing….this nation was not founded by Christian thought but rather by reasoned, enlightened Deists.
Meanwhile, the facts on the ground are simply this:
“It’s not necessary to dig through the diaries, however, to determine which faith was the Founder’s guiding light. There’s an easier way to settle the issue.
The phrase “Founding Fathers” is a proper noun. It refers to a specific group of men, the 55 delegates to the Constitutional Convention. There were other important players not in attendance, like Jefferson, whose thinking deeply influenced the shaping of our nation. These 55 Founding Fathers, though, made up the core.
The denominational affiliations of these men were a matter of public record. Among the delegates were 28 Episcopalians, 8 Presbyterians, 7 Congregationalists, 2 Lutherans, 2 Dutch Reformed, 2 Methodists, 2 Roman Catholics, 1 unknown, and only 3 deists–Williamson, Wilson, and Franklin–this at a time when church membership entailed a sworn public confession of biblical faith.[1]
This is a revealing tally. It shows that the members of the Constitutional Convention, the most influential group of men shaping the political foundations of our nation, were almost all Christians, 51 of 55–a full 93%. Indeed, 70% were Calvinists (the Episcopalians, Presbyterians, and the Dutch Reformed), considered by some to be the most extreme and dogmatic form of Christianity.” – source
You tell me, is it right or healthy to revise history to fit your own world view? Isn’t that like….lying to yourself? What can one get out of lying to themselves? Perhaps it makes it easier to look in the mirror when certain members of society can shape the world to fit their selfish perspective.
