82 years ago on this day, a great American patriot was born. While many folks spend their lives tilting at windmills, he dedicated his life to protecting his country and therefore his family from the very real threat of totalitarian regimes and their ideologies. Born in 1927, he grew up during the depression and enlisted in the Army upon graduation from high school. He served his country in the combat zones of South Korea and Viet Nam, aided in reconstruction and reconciliation in Japan and West Germany, and trained thousands in a 30 year career as a Cold Warrior. He passed quietly in his sleep early Sunday morning.
A requiem Mass will be held at the Oden Chapel, 401 SE 19thAve Saturday, December 5th at 2:00PM
He will be interred at the Bushnell National Cemetery with full military honors, Tuesday December 8th at 2:00PM
