I just had a Climate Change in my Office

Obama is trying to express his Christian Faith a bit more these days. As we have been discussing, he does have an identity problem with 20% of Americans believing that he is a Muslim and 42% of Americans not sure if he’s even an American citizen. So now for open public consumption Obama is going to Church and speaking about his “Christian” faith in secular settings now. Do you think this is sincere or is he playing politics? Even in the context of this sudden delve into faith, Obama continues to mangle the meanign of Genesis 4:9. The verse has nothing to do with the so called Democrat value (if there is such a thing) of being ‘your brother’s keeper’. So, if this outward expression of faith is sincere…he certainly has trouble grasping the meaning. Thus, his faith is mis-guided.
But let’s take it at face value. If Obama is to convince Americans that ‘we’ have to provide health insurance because ‘we are our brother’s keeper’ and if Obama is to foist his understanding of religious views on American values then why the speech below? As well, let’s not forget that Obama is mangling the true meaning of Genesis 4:9 which is the story of Cain and Abel.
“Genesis 4:9 (New International Version, ©2010)
9 Then the LORD said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?”
“I don’t know,” he replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”
And then Obama tries to explain how his “faith” dictates that marriage is between a man and a woman.
Even though we cannot figure out where Obama really stands on these issues (what is new?), where do our laws come from? How do we know what is right and wrong? How do we know that murder is wrong? Ultimately, there has to be a reason that we have the laws we have. Let’s chat about why?
Again with the cartoons. Good grief some folks just have a one tracked mind.
“Chavez’s latest actions in pushing through controversial laws are contributing to the diplomatic tensions. The measures have been hurriedly passed before a new legislature takes office Jan. 5 with enough opposition lawmakers to prevent passage of some types of major laws.” Hmmmm – sound familiar?
He may be a lefty, but I really do respect the fact that George Clooney won’t take his eye off of the ball when it comes to the Sudan. Hats off!
