We recently had the opportunity to cook for the founders of Operation Shoebox. This was a particular delight. The founders of this great organization are simply…down to earth humble people. They dedicate so much time to making our troops feel like they are loved and cared for by us folks back at home. In this great nation, where the average citizen lives a lifestyle that only belonged to Kings and Pharos of ancient times, it is our soldiers who guarantee this form of freedom and prosperity. This is an incredible endeavor but an endeavor that is not without loss. Our troops go without the brilliance of selection, opportunity and basic comforts of home that we take for granted. Operation Shoebox fills the gap in a way that is incredible. They create care packages and send them overseas to our soldiers.

There is a fabulous dentist here in Ocala, Dr. Alex M. Gluhareff. We call him Doc G. He hosted this great event at his house and we made a Common Chef episode out of it. We cooked in incredible Christmas meal for Doc G, the founders of Operation Shoebox and a few well deserved vets. It brought us a lot of joy to make these folks happy with a home cooked Holiday meal that will leave you with anticipation for our next episode. Which by the way, we are doing with Shane’s Rib Shack and Interfaith. I think you’ll like the tribute we did for our troops and the food we made. Making Sense of Things: The current crisis threatens to blow past the elaborately constructed edifices of the EU, UN, IMF and group of industrialized countries the way German Panzers blasted past the Maginot Line. What may be failing, in addition to the authoritarian regimes of the Middle East and Southwest Asia, is the entire International System.

So, they are spending a ton of money they don’t actually have on programs that do not deliver, all for a fake issue. And driving up the cost of living to boot. Good job!
